Sports physical therapy after ACL reconstruction.
The rehabilitation process following ACL reconstruction (ACLR) is undoubtedly long and grueling. There will likely be days when you struggle to see the light at the end of the tunnel. This is why it's extremely important to have someone prepared to guide you through every step of the process. The return to sport timeline typically requires 9-12+ months to safely recover to pre-injury status and safely return to sport. Specific criteria need to be followed to progress from day one to clearance. Sports physical therapists should have a checklist to progress from crutches to unrestricted walking, to functional strengthening, to jogging, to initiating plyometrics, to sprinting, to changing directions, etc. At Stamina, we are passionate about addressing every need that arises after ACLR because it just matters that much. Whether you are fighting for a scholarship offer, working towards a championship, or just need the competitive energy of training, we can't wait to help you.
